Is toxicity the new form of love?

"Toxic" a very trending word nowadays. But do we know what toxic really means? It means something poisonous, harmful for health. Is love getting toxic nowadays? Are we normalising toxicity? Let's read a small story and find out.

Shruti locked herself in her room and kneeled to the floor crying. And asked herself "Is toxicity the new form of love?" Confused about what happened? Let's rewind a bit.

So in the starting of high school Shruti had a crush on Rohan. He was the most popular guy in school. Every girl wanted him because he was damn good looking. But nobody really knew how his personality was.

Shruti was crazy for him. All she wanted was to date him she saw her future with him.

One day, she was returning home and saw Rohan crying. She went to ask him what was wrong. He hugged her and said my parents are getting a divorce. She comforted him and walked him home.

The next day, he ignored him in school but knocked on her window in the evening. She didn't know what this meant and one day she confronted him she said "What are we Rohan?" He had no answer. She continued " I love you Rohan. I really do!" He hugged her and whispered in her ear " I love you too sweetheart!" Shruti could not believe her ears. She was in tears of happiness.

But as their relationship grew. Rohan started getting over possesive. He did not let Shruti hangout with any of her friends without him. He controlled her dressing style. She felt caged. And one day she felt like she couldn't breathe anymore around him. She couldn't leave him because he was her life. She locked herself in her room and kneeled to the ground while crying and questioned "Is toxicity the new form of love?"

Rohan heard her as he was on the other side of the door. He was heartbroken. He thought that he was becoming like his dad because his mom also suffered and suffered until she decided to leave his dad. He thought that Shruti will leave him because of his nature.

He started crying and Shruti opened the door as she heard him crying. Shruti asked him what was wrong and comforted him. He asked her "Will you also leave me? I'm really sorry for being a jerk. But please don't leave me." He said in a crying voice. She hugged him and said "I'll not leave you, I can never leave you. You are my life." He hugged her tighter and told her everything about the situation of his parents.

She understood and helped him in healing his traumas and both of them loved each other immensely and made eachother glow and grow in love.
